Membership keeps the Society run by, and accountable to, the community it serves. Here's exactly how it works, what it funds, and how to pay.

Membership is a one-time annual charge — not a recurring subscription — so you're always in control of renewing.

What your membership funds
Every fee goes toward the Society's core running and its work in Simlak — and gives you a say in how it's run.
A vote at the AGM
Paid-up members can attend and vote at the Society's Annual General Meeting, helping decide priorities for the year ahead.
Direct support for Simlak
Membership fees fund the Society's core costs, so appeal and Ramadan donations go further, directly into education, welfare and health programmes.
A community-run Society
Members keep the Society accountable and independent — run by the community it serves, not by any single family or donor.

I can't find my record on the membership site
Make sure you're searching with the email address the Society has on file for you. If it still doesn't turn up, email office@thesmws.org or WhatsApp +44 7759 006242 and we'll check the membership list for you.
How much is membership, and how often do I pay?
£10 per year, per member. It's a one-time annual charge rather than an auto-renewing subscription, so nothing is taken from your card without you actively paying each year.
How do I renew next year?
We'll send SMS reminders 30, 15 and 7 days before your renewal date. You can also revisit the membership site at any time and look yourself up by email to check your status and pay early.
Is it safe to pay by card on the membership site?
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe, a widely used payment provider. The Society never sees or stores your full card details.
I'd rather not pay online — can I pay another way?
Of course — contact the office by phone, WhatsApp or email and we'll arrange an alternative way to pay your membership.
